UNDP helps countries to develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and to build resilience in order to sustain development results.Venezuela faces political, economic, and security challenges that impact stability and UN support. The Peace and Development Team aids the UNDP and Resident Coordination Office with analysis, technical support, and conflict-sensitive programming. The team equips the UN Country Team to address challenges, promote recovery, and safeguard civic space.As Information Analyst you support UNDP as follows:Monitor national and international media outlets, gather and transcribe relevant statements and documents;Track decisions and processes of international bodies regarding Venezuela;Analyze various information sources to deepen understanding of Venezuelan developments;Prepare weekly updates and regular written reports on contextual analysis;Support UN internal coordination, including monitoring electoral rights and organizing meetings/workshops;Macro-area: Latin America and the CaribbeanLevel of experience: Junior Professional, 1 to 3 yearsArea of work Definition: Advocacy, Media and CommunicationArea of work: Documentation, Knowledge Management, Research, AnalysisArea of work: Political Affairs, Conflict and PeacekeepingType of organisation: Multilateral OrganisationsSkills requiredFor the programme:Swiss nationality;Ideally 12 months of relevant professional experience (min. 3 months - max. 24 months);Max. 28 years old at the date of application;Excellent command of English and 2 official Swiss languages (one active = C1/C2, one passive = A2/B1);Proven interest in joining the international cooperation sector;Driving license for PHRD financed positions.For this position:Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Political Economy, Development Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, or a related discipline;Demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally one year) in areas related to international affairs, political affairs, security, and/or information analysis;Strong analytical/research skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills;A first experience in information management, information systems or other related experience would be highly regarded;Fluent in English and working knowledge in Spanish.We are committed to gender balance and encourage applications from qualified individuals of all genders.
