Overview of the Role
The Associate Vice President for Capital Facilities Planning will play a critical role in shaping the future of our campus. This position requires an experienced leader who can develop and implement a comprehensive capital facilities planning strategy that aligns with our academic goals and objectives. The successful candidate will oversee the development of our campus facilities, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive capital facilities planning strategy that supports our academic growth and administrative objectives.
  • Oversee the planning and design of all capital projects, including remodels, renovations, and new constructions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and agency codes.
  • Serve as CalArts' chief design official and building official.

Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related technical field, and at least 10 years of experience in capital facilities planning and development. They will be responsible for providing expert guidance on the planning and design of all capital projects, and will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of these projects.
