Removal Advocacy Lawyer

We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Staff Attorney to join our team at the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA). As a Staff Attorney, you will play a critical role in supporting IIBA's mission to provide quality immigration-specific legal services, advice, and representation to low-income residents in removal proceedings.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in immigration law, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in representing clients in removal proceedings. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel on immigration issues, representing clients in bond, master calendar, and individual hearings in Immigration Court, and maintaining high standards for legal protocols and record keeping.

In addition to your technical skills and knowledge, we are looking for someone who is passionate about serving immigrants and sensitive to the needs of the low-income, culturally diverse newcomer community. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our clients receive the highest level of service and support.

• J.D. from an ABA-certified law school or international equivalent.
• Current Bar Membership in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in immigration law, preferably representing clients in removal proceedings.
