Fiber Optics Network Operations Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optics Network Operations Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Tower International.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage the operations, maintenance, and updates of our fiber optic network performance.
• Oversee external contractors participating in the maintenance of our fiber networks, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and monitoring performance of preventive and corrective maintenance work activities.
• Manage incident responses, review maintenance reports, and suggest improvements to the maintenance program as appropriate in a technical and economical manner.
• Evaluate and ensure adequate resources and systems are in place to comply with customer SLAs and KPIs at all times.
• Provide visibility into main risks related to security or others to Operations Directors/VP, as appropriate.
• Support sales teams by understanding customer needs and proposing new projects that involve placement in existing fiber routes or expansion of fiber routes.
• Assist customers with new network designs or updates, recommending and managing third-party design teams as necessary for project scope.
• Work with external suppliers to produce designs or network updates and solutions, then evaluate work required with contractors and produce scopes to request capital expenditure budgets.
• Directly manage and through third parties, all new constructions and updates in our fiber networks.
• Collaborate with leasing teams to support installation and placement of customers in our fiber networks.
• Perform additional tasks related to fiber optic networks that may be assigned and required to support operations and sales.
• Participate in forming Operation and Maintenance budgets of the Fiber Network, including corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Attend periodic meetings for network performance monitoring with clients and present periodic results of network performance.
• Meet requirements of engineering departments of clients and present plans and budgets.
• Design FO solutions and implement project solutions, meeting time, quality, and cost approvals.
• Elaborate RFQs and RFPs for Operations and other projects.

Requirements:

• Excellent oral/written communication, presentation, and listening skills.
• Detailed organization and planning skills.
• Advanced user of Excel and Microsoft Office suite products.
• Civil engineering or Telecomm engineering degree.
• Minimum of 5 years administrative experience, preferably with billing and collections experience.
• Proficient in English is a plus.
• PM Certified desirable or proven experience of goals achieved.
