AML Compliance Investigator

We are seeking an experienced AML Investigator to join our Compliance Investigations Team at Bitfinex. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting and adjudicating referrals of unusual activity made to the Compliance Team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in AML and regulatory compliance, with excellent analytical and communication skills. You will work closely with our Manager Compliance, Chief Compliance Officer, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions.

• Conduct thorough investigations to determine risk exposure and make recommendations for account closure, freezing of funds, or SAR filing.
• Provide support to our Customer Help Desk and Legal Team with investigative assistance.
• Communicate with customers, agents, and internal attorneys as required.

• University education (preferably in a relevant field)
• Experience in an investigative function, with a strong background in AML and regulatory compliance
• Demonstrated AML experience, including customer and enhanced due diligence, AML/CTF/Sanctions Investigations, and SAR/STR reporting
• Basic knowledge of blockchain technology (enhanced in the role)
• CAMS/CBP designation (preferably)
