Job Description:

Rijk Zwaan Ibérica, SA is seeking a highly skilled Eggplant Breeder to join our team in El Ejido, Spain. As a Breeder, you will be responsible for developing new eggplant varieties that meet the needs of our customers worldwide.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop new eggplant varieties with improved traits such as disease resistance and higher yields
• Collaborate with our sales team to understand customer needs and preferences
• Work closely with our research and development team to identify opportunities for improvement in our breeding program
• Conduct phenotyping and evaluation of various selection and variety trials
• International travel to judge variety trials and establish relationships with stakeholders

Requirements:

• BSc or MSc degree in horticulture, agriculture, applied biology, or plant breeding
• At least 2 years of experience in plant breeding or a related field
• Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills
• Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
