Subsurface Image Analyst

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will join the Geophysical Imaging Department, contributing to the support of Saudi Aramco's exploration and development programs.

Job Description:

You will be responsible for designing seismic imaging workflows, implementing the latest seismic imaging technologies, and collaborating within a team to provide fit-for-purpose solutions minimizing structural uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design seismic imaging workflows to improve subsurface image quality for given geological settings.
• Implement the latest seismic imaging technologies to enhance geophysical solution quality.
• Work dynamically within the geophysical solution-based model interacting with different disciplines for common goals.
• Closely interact with clients to understand business needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Assess uncertainty related to seismic imaging work and share its impact on delivered solutions.
• Participate in project peer-reviews as needed to ensure quality of work.
• Collaborate with developers to provide seismic imaging technologies solving issues like near-surface noise, multiples, velocity models, and resolutions.
• Present work to management and team members when requested.
• Mentor junior geophysicists in seismic depth imaging through hands-on projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics from an accredited university; an advanced degree is a plus.
• Alternative acceptable disciplines include Physics or Geology in conjunction with relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in seismic depth imaging with exposure to recent related technologies.
• Expertise could be either with a service provider or a major oil and gas company.
• Experience in effective decision-making in land, transition zone, and marine seismic imaging.
• Show evidence of implementing the latest technologies and designing workflows for seismic depth imaging.
• Wide variety of geological settings resembling different seismic imaging challenges.
• Exposure to programming and software development for seismic data imaging is a plus.
