Overview
IT Project Manager
Astria Learning is an education-technology company dedicated to building scalable, high-quality software solutions that make a real difference in how people learn. We are looking for an experienced and organised IT Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of our software development and implementation projects.
In this role you will serve as the central link between clients, business stakeholders, development teams, UX/UI designers, and QA professionals — translating business needs into actionable requirements and ensuring every project is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on, ownership-driven position that combines project management, business analysis, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
What you'll do
Project planning & delivery
• Own the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) — from requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
• Define project objectives, scope, milestones, resource requirements, and success criteria; develop and maintain comprehensive project plans.
• Monitor progress, proactively identify risks and bottlenecks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Manage scope changes and shifting priorities while maintaining delivery commitments.
• Oversee deployment readiness, client acceptance, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support. Business analysis & requirements management
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into structured functional specifications, user stories, workflows, and measurable acceptance criteria.
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the SDLC and ensure development and QA teams have complete, actionable documentation before implementation begins.
• Facilitate requirements clarification sessions and evaluate proposed solutions for feasibility, usability, and alignment with business objectives. Technical coordination & development management
• Coordinate daily priorities across software developers, QA engineers, UX/UI designers, and business analysts.
• Collaborate with technical teams to assess solution feasibility, implementation approaches, and system dependencies.
• Translate technical concepts into clear business language, and business requirements into language that technical teams can act on.
• Organise and facilitate sprint planning, progress reviews, and technical discussions; remove operational blockers to keep teams moving. Software quality assurance & functional testing
• Take an active, hands-on role in functional validation — reviewing completed features against approved requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) as applicable.
• Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects through to resolution; verify fixes and work with teams to prevent recurring issues.
• Validate software releases before client demonstrations, deployment, and final handover.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and release readiness procedures. Product knowledge, demonstrations & implementation support
• Develop and maintain deep knowledge of Astria Learning's software platforms — their functionality, workflows, configurations, and integrations.
• Prepare and deliver professional product demonstrations for clients, prospective partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate client onboarding, system configuration, implementation activities, and user acceptance processes.
• Support the preparation of training materials, user guides, and product documentation. Client & stakeholder management
• Act as the central coordination point between clients, management, business departments, and technical delivery teams.
• Communicate project progress, risks, decisions, and milestones clearly and in a timely manner.
• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding scope, timelines, functionality, and implementation outcomes.
• Proactively address concerns, facilitate issue resolution, and escalate critical matters when necessary. Documentation & process management
• Create and maintain comprehensive project and product documentation — including requirements, functional specifications, test cases, defect logs, release notes, meeting minutes, decision logs, and risk registers.
• Establish consistent documentation standards that support knowledge sharing, accountability, and operational continuity.
• Ensure all project information is organised and accessible within Company-approved systems. Team coordination & leadership
• Coordinate task assignments, workload distribution, and operational priorities across project teams.
• Set clear expectations around ownership, deliverables, and deadlines; monitor progress and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Provide guidance and constructive feedback to strengthen delivery quality; support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new team members.
• Participate in performance evaluations and support recruitment and capacity planning activities as needed.
• Foster a professional, proactive, and solutions-oriented team culture. What we're looking for Experience
• Demonstrated experience managing software development, IT implementation, or technology-driven projects through the full SDLC.
• Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and traditional project management methodologies.
• Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.
• Hands-on experience with software testing, defect management, and release validation.
• Track record of coordinating multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Technical skills
• Working knowledge of software development workflows, APIs, system integrations, databases, and application functionality.
• Ability to follow and contribute to technical discussions with software engineers.
• Proficiency with project and task management tools such as Jira, ClickUp, Trello, Asana, or similar platforms.
• Ability to produce structured technical documentation, process diagrams, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Familiarity with bug tracking, QA methodologies, release management, and user acceptance processes. Professional competencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and time-management skills.
• Strong sense of ownership and commitment to measurable outcomes.
• Confidence communicating with technical teams, senior management, and external clients.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, business-oriented communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to resolving challenges. Nice to have
• Experience with SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, CRM, ERP, LMS, or similar software ecosystems.
• Formal project management or business analysis certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, CBAP, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with software deployment pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience in the education-technology sector or working with learning management systems. If you think you've got what it takes, please apply using the following link: https://apply.astrialearning.com/jobs/it-project-manager
