Responsibilities
• Lead business development and early-stage development of renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects across Latin America, identifying opportunities and driving projects from early development through to implementation.
• Lead or support land acquisition, land negotiations, land leasing, easements and rights of way, driving the negotiation, execution and implementation of related agreements.
• Advance permitting and other approvals required for project development, coordinating with local authorities, landowners, communities, lawyers, consultants and other stakeholders, and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Participate in project screening, due diligence, development planning, commercial assessment and negotiations, working with internal teams to bring projects and partnerships to completion.
• Track development progress, identify risks related to land, permitting, policy and community relations, and coordinate resources to resolve them.
• Build and maintain relationships with local developers, landowners and other potential partners to support the company's growth in Colombia, Argentina and other Latin American markets.
• Conduct site visits, business meetings and on-the-ground coordination as projects require. Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in project development or business development in renewable energy or energy infrastructure; hands-on project development experience in Latin America preferred.
• Proven ability to source projects, negotiate commercial terms and develop partnerships, with experience taking projects from early-stage development through to completion.
• Solid knowledge of land acquisition, land negotiations, easements, rights of way and project permitting; experience in government relations or community relations management preferred.
• Project experience in Colombia preferred; additional experience in Argentina or other Latin American countries is a plus.
• Strong communication, coordination, negotiation and cross-cultural collaboration skills, with the ability to drive projects independently and solve practical problems.
• Results-oriented with strong execution, willing to work hands-on at project sites.
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish and business-level proficiency in English.
