Canonical is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join its growing international team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale backend services for the Snap Store and Charmhub.io marketplaces.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated professional proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications using Python.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to design and implement new features and enhancements.
  • Develop clean web service APIs to support both CLI and web frontend clients using Python (and optionally Golang).
  • Ensure high-quality code and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and software engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with web frameworks such as Flask or Django.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
