Job Overview

Ciudad del Saber is seeking a seasoned leader to serve as Head of Office in Caracas, Venezuela.

About the Role

This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and coordination of UNFPA activities in Venezuela.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Programme leadership, planning, and management
  • External relationships and resource mobilization
  • Leading and managing the country team
  • Adopting the Triple Nexus Approach
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in one or more of the following disciplines: Public Health, Medicine, Sociology, Demography, Gender Studies, International Relations, International Development, Economics, Public Administration, Management, or other related field.

A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of international development, preferably in the area of population and/or Reproductive Health, is required.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to refine programme design to ensure alignment of organizational programme objectives to national priorities/capacities.

Proven ability to lead and manage teams to achieve demonstrable results, excellent written and oral communication skills to represent the organization, and experience in high-level advocacy and policy dialogue, as well as Resource Mobilization and Partnership development are also essential.
