California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) is a highly regarded, nationally ranked independent multidisciplinary arts institution seeking a dynamic Associate Vice President for Capital Facility Planning.

Job Summary

The Associate Vice President of Capital Facilities Planning will provide expert leadership in the ongoing development of CalArts' campus. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (SVPFA/CFO).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy and day-to-day direction of all capital facilities planning needs.
  • Manage project planning and design for major and minor capital projects, including remodels, renovations, and new constructions.
  • Ensure that all capital projects are functional, environmentally sustainable, and cost-effective.
  • Serve as the operational lead in developing a new capital facility master plan.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of capital facilities planning and development experience.
  • The ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A record of collaborating across teams to achieve goals and innovate new solutions.
  • Proven excellence as a financial steward.
