Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Virtualent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance and reliability of our production systems. Your expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and highly available infrastructures will be essential in driving our business forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable and highly available infrastructures to meet business needs.
  • Monitor and ensure the performance and reliability of production systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Implement automation for recurring tasks and operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve continuous delivery and code deployment, ensuring seamless integration with our infrastructure.
  • Respond to incidents and conduct post-mortem analysis to prevent future issues, continuously improving our processes and systems.
  • Optimize resource usage and manage system capacity to ensure maximum efficiency and performance.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role, with a strong background in Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and log management tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK stack.
  • Scripting and automation skills, with experience in Python, Bash, Go, and Shell.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and CircleCI.
  • Experience in configuration management, including Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with cloud storage, including S3 and Google Cloud Storage.
  • Familiarity with security tools, including Vault, OSSEC, and SIEM.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of networking and load balancing, including Nginx, HAProxy, and F5.
  • Experience with messaging and data flow systems, including Apache Kafka.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good written and oral English language skills.
