As a key member of the International Medical Corps team, you will play a vital role in shaping the organization's health systems strategy and ensuring its effective implementation.

This senior-level position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing high-value, complex projects in health system strengthening and humanitarian health settings. You will lead the development and delivery of IMC's health systems strategy, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funder requirements.

Main Tasks and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health systems strategy that aligns with IMC's overall mission and goals.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of health systems programs, meeting both internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, UN agencies, and local partners, to advance health systems strengthening and improve service delivery.
Quality Assurance and Improvement
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality assurance mechanisms to ensure compliance with organizational standards and funder requirements.
  • Monitor progress against established benchmarks, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Research, Evidence and Learning Unit (REL) to drive evidence-based decision making and continuous quality improvement.
Knowledge Management and Capacity Building
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the capacity of IMC staff and partners in health systems strengthening and quality assurance.
  • Capture and disseminate knowledge gained from health systems programs, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future project designs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging staff to explore new approaches and technologies that can improve health systems outcomes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree in international health, public health, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in health systems strengthening and quality assurance, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in complex project environments.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower teams to achieve outstanding results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
