We are looking for a Quality Auditor to join our team on a project basis. As a Quality Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting external quality assurance audits to assess examination centres' compliance with our standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently and work at short notice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Experience in examination centre management or related field.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Auditor will be responsible for:

  • Conducting centre audit/monitoring activities to ensure compliance with our centre approval criteria and associated policies and procedures.
  • Providing centres with clear and constructive advice, support, and guidance on internal quality arrangements and our qualifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Carrying out announced and/or unannounced visits to monitor the conduct and integrity of examinations.
  • Audit activities to verify the compliance of new examination rooms/venues according to our set specifications.
  • Completing accurate centre audit reports/records, written in a clear and constructive manner, returning them to us and the centre no later than 5 business days after the audit activity.
  • Informing centres of any identified non-compliance and actions required to remedy.
  • Monitoring and following up on identified centre non-compliance to ensure appropriate close out of actions required.
  • Recommending sanctions to be imposed on centres.
  • Undertaking investigations regarding alleged malpractice/maladministration as assigned by the Quality Officer.
  • Demonstrating full understanding and implementation of our systems, processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal Management Systems.
  • Providing any audit clarifications required.
  • Attending training/standardisation events from time-to-time throughout each calendar year.
  • Declaring any existing or prior activities which would/may conflict with the role of QA and reporting, in writing, any conflicts that may, from time-to-time occur.
  • Acting as a goodwill ambassador for LanguageCert by the courteous treatment of all customers, ensuring at all times that the professionalism of the company is upheld.
  • Maintaining own Health & Safety and that of LanguageCert staff and candidates in accordance with the company's Health & Safety requirements.

What You Need to Succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An exceptional command of the English language (native-like fluency or C2 level certification preferred).
  • Certifications such as LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL are a plus.
  • Relevant quality assurance experience in the context of training and/or examination.
  • Familiarity with equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices.
  • Availability on demand, at short notice from time-to-time; frequent travelling may be required.
  • Efficient completion of administrative duties, including completion of reports in a timely manner.
  • Representation of LanguageCert in a firm, but professional and polite manner.
  • Ability to communicate and nurture and develop effective professional working relationships.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and keep to schedules.
  • Punctuality and reliability, maintaining high levels of integrity at all times.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs):

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties.

All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence).
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC).Financial background check.Employment reference check.If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.
