Immigration Defense Staff Attorney

The Immigration Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing immigration-specific legal services, advice, and representation to low-income residents in removal proceedings. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Attorney to join our team.

This role will support IIBA's mission by providing quality legal service, advice, and representation in support of low-income residents in removal proceedings. The successful candidate will have a strong background in immigration law and be able to represent clients in bond, master calendar, and individual hearings in Immigration Court, as well as occasional appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, exceptional time management skills, and a commitment to serving immigrants and sensitivity to the needs of the low-income, culturally diverse newcomer community. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with proficiency in a Windows/PC environment and ability to quickly become proficient in the use of IIBA's immigration law software and database.

• Provide legal advice and counsel on immigration issues to low-income residents in removal proceedings.
• Represent clients in bond, master calendar, and individual hearings in Immigration Court.
• Maintain high standards for legal protocols and record keeping.
