Ambitious Open Source Operating System Developer

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of Ubuntu Linux kernels for various platforms and architectures. This involves working with a globally distributed team to design, implement, and test kernel-level software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior engineers and external teams to develop and maintain high-quality kernel code
- Work on optimizing solutions for key Silicon and Cloud partner platforms, including Raspberry Pi and RISC-V
- Develop and implement security features and patches to ensure the stability and reliability of Ubuntu Linux kernels
- Contribute to the integration and distribution of third-party drivers, as well as expanded driver support for bleeding-edge PC platforms
Requirements:
- Strong background in software engineering, preferably with experience in C and/or Rust programming languages
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Familiarity with version control practices, ideally with git
- Understanding of operating system kernel fundamentals and device drivers
