About the PositionThis is a mid-senior level position that requires a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in commercial lines underwriting and a strong understanding of the specialty insurance sector.
- Grow a book of business by underwriting new commercial business and increasing renewal business
- Develop and execute marketing plans to increase new and renewal business
- Reward or decline each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for large or complex renewals as well as new business
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and agencies
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, excess & surplus lines experience preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
