Job Description:
We are seeking a Partner Sales Manager to contribute to our growing Dell alliances organization.
Large OEM or Independent Hardware Vendor (IHV) brands, including Dell, HPE, IBM, Lenovo, Ericsson, Cisco, Fujitsu, and more, partner with us. These companies build software-defined solutions to capitalize on global open source mandates and trends. Our flagship product, Ubuntu, and broader open source portfolio are key ingredients for these partners to realize their aspirations.
We represent the best platform for rapid open source innovation.
The Partner Sales Manager will work closely with Dell and Canonical teams to enable Dell teams, generate opportunities, drive a Canonical agenda within Dell, and achieve targeted results.
This role involves building trusted relationships with Dell, increasing market share and attach rate, evangelizing the partnership, and driving business interactions across personas – from engineer to CxO. They will run customer workshops, attend sales events, give presentations, and participate in executive engagements coordinated by the Senior Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable Dell teams on the partnership through strategic relationship-building
- Build pipeline and transact opportunities through Dell
- Increase awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu among Dell teams
- Demonstrate expertise in Linux and cloud software ecosystems
- Deliver on targets, objectives, and provide a voice of the partner
- Travel regularly for partnerships in person
- Support internal Canonical field teams to identify, support, grow, and transact with Dell customers
- Upsell to a broader portfolio with existing footprint in Dell customers
- Contribute to broader strategy, initiatives, and campaigns defined by the Senior Director
What We Are Looking For In You:
- Experience in alliance or indirect sales management roles
- A disciplined and autonomous mentality with a hands-on approach
- Ability to capture customer requirements, evaluate gaps, and identify opportunities
- Passion for Ubuntu products and mission
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with measurable goals
- Experience with Linux, virtualization, containers, and cloud technologies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Team player with superior accountability and customer support skills
- Credibility and knowledge of Dell products, go-to-market motion, and field
- Experience managing cross-functional teams with a track record of operational excellence
- Willingness to travel for internal events
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce.com and Google Suite an asset
